KNOQ · COMMUNICATION TERMS
Communications
and job alerts.
How KNOQ contacts you, what an alert means and how you control it.
Version 1 · 26 October 2026
These terms explain communication through KNOQ. They sit alongside our app and account privacy notice, website privacy notice and service responsibilities. They do not change the scope, price or terms of work you agree with an independent professional.
Email for local job requests
For trades and service professionals, email job alerts are on by default as a primary way to hear about suitable current local requests, alongside KNOQ app notifications. KNOQ uses the email address registered to your account. Your services, work area, account access and alert choices determine which invitations are suitable.
Email job alerts are being introduced in stages. An enabled preference does not guarantee an email will arrive. Check KNOQ directly for current requests and updates.
Job-alert emails come from Support@knoq.au. They identify KNOQ and include a way to unsubscribe from email job alerts. Keep your registered email address current and check its inbox and junk or spam folder when you are looking for work.
KNOQ sends job-alert emails only where there is a supported consent basis, whether express consent or consent reasonably inferred from a relevant ongoing professional relationship where permitted. An email address, account or default setting alone is not blanket permission. Reading these terms does not opt you in or reverse an earlier choice.
App notifications on Android and Apple
Install KNOQ on your Android phone or tablet, iPhone or iPad, sign in and allow notification permission. KNOQ’s standard setup then uses on-screen and sound alerts. You do not need to leave KNOQ open or watch the screen. Tap an app notification to open KNOQ and see the details.
Professionals can receive suitable local job-request invitations. Households can receive replies and updates about their requests and jobs. Internet access is needed. Device volume, Silent, Focus, Do Not Disturb, battery restrictions and other settings can affect delivery, sound or visibility.
Email and app notifications are separate channels. Turning off one does not automatically turn off the other. Existing pauses on all job alerts still apply.
Your email and notification choices
You can turn off email job alerts separately, including by choosing “Unsubscribe from email job alerts” in an alert and confirming your choice. You do not need to sign in or give extra personal details. This stops job-alert emails without closing your KNOQ account or changing your phone or tablet notification settings. Existing opt-outs and pauses on all job alerts still apply.
You can also use the separate email job-alert choice where it is available in KNOQ. If you need help changing it, contact Support@knoq.au. Change app notification permissions in your device settings.
An email job-alert unsubscribe concerns invitations to new work. Necessary account, security or support communications may still be sent where appropriate. Optional launch or marketing updates have their own unsubscribe choices; contact us if you want to stop those too.
An alert is an invitation, not a booking
Open KNOQ to review the current request and choose whether to respond. Reading an email, tapping a notification or installing the app does not accept work, approve a service, switch your availability on or create a booking. A request may expire or no longer be available when you check it. KNOQ does not guarantee work, earnings or that an alert will reach you.
A professional’s service approval, availability, alert preferences and any booking are separate. Check the current status and confirmed agreement in KNOQ.
Private details stay in KNOQ
A job-alert email includes the service and approximate area. It does not include the household’s name, exact address, job description or private messages. Review request details through your authorised KNOQ account.
KNOQ uses the registered email address, relevant service and area settings, preferences and consent, delivery and unsubscribe records to operate this channel and respect your choices. Microsoft 365 provides the email service. Read the email-alert privacy information for more detail.
If an alert does not arrive
Open KNOQ directly to check requests, replies and job updates. An occasional in-app check is a useful backup. Professionals can check every hour or every few hours while looking for work, including the home screen’s “Available now” status. Having KNOQ installed does not switch that status on.
For help with email, notification settings or unsubscribe, email Support@knoq.au or visit job-alert help. A person can help; you do not need to use Ask Norb first. Do not send passwords, identity documents or private job details.
