PUBLIC WEBSITE PRIVACY NOTICE · 25 SEPTEMBER 2026

ACCOUNTABILITY

Who handles your information

KNOQ™ is a registered business name operated by Steve Harley under ABN 40 673 535 778, alongside HarleyShift Advisory. References to KNOQ, we or us in this notice mean that business.

This notice covers browsing, optional interest and support forms, research feedback and investor enquiries. Website account creation and the connected mobile apps are covered by the app and account privacy notice linked below.

This notice covers the KNOQ website. For information about the KNOQ app and its connected account service and trial, read the KNOQ app privacy notice.

THE INFORMATION

What we collect

Professional expressions of interest collect your name, email, primary service and the suburbs or service areas you cover. You can optionally provide a business name, phone number, other services, a broad trade or professional grouping, proposed plan interest and a brief note about your services. Community interest collects name, email and suburb, with optional household/business and service-interest choices. Plan interest is planning information, not enrolment or acceptance of paid terms. Browsing a proposed price guide does not enrol you in a subscription. The support form collects the contact details, topic and message you submit. Technical hosting and security logs may also record ordinary request information such as time, browser type and network address. If your service is unlisted, we also collect the service description you provide. Service phase is a planning label, not an eligibility decision.

You can browse without submitting a registration form, although ordinary technical records may still be created. The forms identify required fields; we need reply details to respond and the relevant suburb or service details to record useful early-access interest. Without them, we may not be able to provide the requested update or response. Optional planning choices can be left blank.

In general forms, provide only what is needed for the enquiry. Do not include passwords, payment-card details, identity documents or unnecessary health or other sensitive information about yourself or anyone else. Ordinary reply details are welcome. If a complaint or accessibility request needs sensitive information, contact us first with a brief description so we can discuss what is necessary and how to provide it.

THE PURPOSE

Why we collect it

We use expressions of interest to understand service categories, local demand, professional interest and areas of coverage as the trial is prepared; to review and follow up your enquiry; and to send relevant KNOQ updates. Optional business, service and plan preferences help that planning and can be left blank. We also protect forms from misuse and maintain appropriate operational records. Your information is not a public directory listing. Submitting an optional interest or enquiry form does not create an app account, verify a professional, enrol a membership, send a service request or guarantee work. The dedicated household and professional signup pages do create your KNOQ account.

YOUR INBOX

Communications and choice

Customer early-access details receive customer launch updates. Trade and professional details receive professional-pathway updates. You can unsubscribe from an email or contact us at any time. We do not sell these details or use them for unrelated advertising.

WHO HELPS US OPERATE

Service providers and overseas processing

We use Netlify for website hosting and form processing, Microsoft email services for receiving and responding to enquiries, and OpenAI for the Ask Norb processing described below. Information is shared only as reasonably needed for those services. Access to submissions and mailbox records is restricted to authorised administration.

These services can involve processing outside Australia. In particular, the Netlify function that handles Ask Norb questions currently runs in the United States. Other storage, processing and support locations depend on each provider's service and settings; we do not promise that information stays in Australia or that the United States is the only overseas location. Contact us if you need more information about the locations relevant to your information.

KEEPING IT RESPONSIBLY

Retention and security

We keep information only while it is reasonably needed for the purpose above, to manage an active relationship, or to meet legal, security and record-keeping needs. We then delete or de-identify it where practical. We use access controls and proportionate technical and administrative safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system can be promised as completely risk-free.

If we become aware of a suspected data breach affecting website information, we will take steps to contain it, assess what happened and the risk of harm, and act on the findings. We will notify affected people and the relevant regulator where required by applicable law. You can report a suspected privacy or security incident through the privacy contact below; include only the information needed to explain the concern.

NO AD-TRACKER CIRCUS

Analytics and cookies

The public KNOQ site uses limited first-party funnel measurement to understand which public calls to action are useful and whether customer, professional and investor pathways are working. Event records contain a controlled interaction name, the public page, campaign source, medium and campaign labels when present, and only the referring site’s hostname. Optional post-registration choices are recorded only as controlled, broad event names. The records do not contain form field values, message text, a persistent user identifier or advertising-profile data.

Campaign context is kept in browser session storage only for the current browsing session so a later early-access completion can be attributed to the same visit. KNOQ sends these bounded event records to the same-origin website form service and does not use third-party advertising trackers, cross-site profiling or session replay. Browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals disable this measurement. Ordinary hosting and security logs may still be created for delivery, reliability and misuse prevention.

YOUR CHOICES

Access, correction, deletion and complaints

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, request access or a correction, withdraw your early-access interest, or ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep. Please tell us if your details change. Contact Steve Harley using the email below and describe your request; you do not need legal wording. We may ask for enough information to check your identity or authority before releasing or changing a record. Do not send identity documents unless we have discussed what is necessary and how to provide it.

We will take reasonable steps to correct relevant records and working copies. If you ask us to notify a previous recipient of a correction, we will consider the request and take reasonable steps where required and lawful. If we cannot provide access, make a correction or delete something, we will explain the reason, any information we still need to retain, and how you can challenge the outcome. If we disagree about a correction, you can ask us to record your statement with the information. A deletion request does not guarantee immediate removal from every backup or a supplier's legally required records.

Making a complaint

For a privacy complaint, tell us what happened and the outcome you are seeking. We will acknowledge it, review the relevant records, seek clarification if needed and give you our response within a reasonable period. If more time is needed, we will explain the delay and the next step. You can reply if you disagree with the outcome. If it remains unresolved, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), depending on whether the matter falls within its jurisdiction. The OAIC generally asks that you complain to the organisation first and allow 30 days for a response; this is not a promise that every matter will be resolved within 30 days.

ASK NORB

How KNOQ uses AI

NorbKNOQ’s AI guide for public information

KNOQ uses artificial intelligence to support selected features, including Ask Norb, our guide to public information about KNOQ.

AI responses can be incorrect and are not individually reviewed by a person. Ask Norb cannot access your account or live job records, make bookings, authorise payments or resolve disputes. Please do not share personal, payment or sensitive information in the chat.

You can contact human support directly for questions, concerns or matters requiring judgement or action. You do not need to use Ask Norb first.

Ask Norb is KNOQ's clearly identified AI guide for public information. Some questions receive a prepared answer without an AI request. Other questions are sent through KNOQ's website infrastructure to OpenAI for automated safety checking and an answer from approved KNOQ information. The chat sends your current question, not your early-access, support or investor form submission. It cannot access your account or live job records. We do not deliberately add questions or answers to website analytics or retain a browser transcript after a page reload. OpenAI response storage is disabled in our API request, but this does not mean zero retention: OpenAI may retain API content in abuse-monitoring logs under its applicable service settings. See OpenAI's API data controls.

Ask Norb is for public information only. Do not include an address, phone number, email address, payment information, password, identification document, credential or sensitive information. Automated checks reject common contact and street-address patterns, but they are not foolproof. Questions requiring personal information, judgement or action must go to human support.

KEEPING YOU INFORMED

Changes to this notice

We will publish updated versions on this page with the version and date. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention, for example through a prominent website notice or direct contact where appropriate. Updating this notice does not by itself give us consent for a new use of your information. We will seek consent where it is required.

That’s the notice. No twenty-page plot twist.
